July Prices Received Index Down 4.1 Percent  

The July Prices Received Index 2011 Base (Agricultural Production), at 133.0, decreased 4.1 percent from June and 2.6 percent from July 2025. At 107.0, the Crop Production Index was down 5.8 percent from last month but up 3.8 percent from the previous year. The Livestock Production Index, at 157.0, decreased 1.1 percent from June and 8.9 percent from July last year. Producers received lower prices during July for lettuce, cattle, broilers, and milk but higher prices for eggs, wheat, hogs, and onions. In addition to prices, the volume change of commodities marketed also influences the indexes. In July, there was decreased monthly movement for cattle, milk, broilers, and strawberries and increased marketing of grapes, wheat, hay, and peaches.  

July Prices Paid Index Down 0.6 Percent  

The July Prices Paid Index for Commodities and Services, Interest, Taxes, and Farm Wage Rates (PPITW), at 162.1, is down 0.6 percent from June 2026 but up 7.7 percent from July 2025. Lower prices in July for feeder cattle, feeder pigs, other services, and nitrogen more than offset higher prices for milk cows, complete feeds, hay & forages, and supplies.
